Meet our shop volunteers
It takes on average, 12,000 volunteer hours each month to run our 27 Children's Hospice South West charity shops across the South West!
Each shop is able to open its doors and welcome in customers with a smile, with the help and support of our wonderful group of volunteers. As well as being able to help our customers find good quality bargains in the shop, each of our volunteers is also helping to raise much needed funds to provide expert care in our three hospices. Every one of our volunteers brings something different to the team in the shop where they volunteer. Many have unique and interesting stories of how they came to volunteer and why they chose to join the CHSW team.
If you have some time to spare, would like meet new people and help make a difference, please fill in the form below. Alternatively, you can call Stephanie Robey on 01271 325 270 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
More ways to donate
What Jeanne loves about being in the shop: recently someone donated a bag of odd, old jewellery that was of no use to them anymore. Amongst it all was an odd gold earring, because it had a makers mark on the back it meant CHSW could get the price of the gold for it.
Interesting fact: at 89 years young she’s possibly our oldest volunteer to chose to join the CHSW team.
"It's like being a member of the family here, I just felt like I fitted in."
What Dan loves about being in the shop: the variety of volunteering in the shop; steaming the clothes, using the till but most of all helping customers.
"Everyone is my friend here and there's always something to do."
What Sarah loves about being in the shop: that it’s different to being in other charity shops.
Interesting fact: she originally volunteered in the shop for just a few weeks to get some experience. After a short break away she liked its so much that she came back!
"CHSW is different to other charity shops, it's a nicer environment."
What Frances loves about being in the shop: with a glittering background in the London fashion scene (having worked with LK Bennett and Armani to name but a few) she loves the designer labels in the shop that her regular customers come in for. Frances also creates stunning window displays each week.
Interesting fact: Frances has 38 grandchildren!
"It's a nice way to meet people, by volunteering in a shop."
