Alli began her career training as a nursery nurse, very quickly knew that she wanted to be a children’s nurse and completed her training at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
She became a staff nurse working with newborns to 18 year olds and then embarked on Health Visitor Training, working with families in the community. Looking for a new challenge she then took a safeguarding and child advocacy post at Dorset County Hospital and in 2003 was promoted to Lead Nurse Paediatrics. In Dorset she played a key role in the management of unexpected deaths and sat on the Child Death Overview Panel. Alli also managed the childrens community nursing team and was instrumental in setting up end of life care, working closely with children and families to ensure services were developed that gave families real choices at end of life.
Alli is settling in to her new North Devon home with her husband and Springer Spaniel and they are enjoying walks investigating the local areas.
