Your registration fee covers the cost of putting on the event and includes a purple t shirt and a medal, a pasty and a goody bag as a thank you for taking part. As this is a charity event we ask that you raise sponsorship to support the vital care that Children’s Hospice South West provides.

Yes of course! The route takes place on pavements, but you will be required to cross roads, so you may require assistance. A named carer will be welcomed to join you to provide assistance on the night. Please call Little Harbour fundraising office on 01726 871800 to discuss further.

This has previously been a ladies’ only event.  For the 10th anniversary Moonlight Memory Walk we are inviting men to join in our memory walk, too.

Our memory walk is open to anyone over the age of 12 years old. Event participants aged 12 to 15 years must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Once you have signed up, you will be sent a confirmation email.   In due course you’ll receive your fundraising pack in the post which will contain your walker number and everything else you will need for the evening. (except your T-shirt which you will collect on the night)

We will also keep in touch with you via email to offer fundraising ideas, tips and any other information about the event. Please ensure you provide a valid email address when you register.

Unfortunately we are unable to transfer your place, and registration fees are non-refundable.*

*Should the event date be changed; your registration will be automatically transferred to the new date, or a refund offered on request. If you are unable to take part due to extenuating circumstances, on authorisation by the Fundraising Manager, CHSW will refund any monies relating to your registration fee, after a deduction of a £5 admin fee. Any documentation sent to you (i.e. running number) must be returned before the refund is processed.

In the unlikely event that CHSW has to cancel the event, all participants will automatically be refunded their registration fees, and any sponsorship money received by CHSW can be refunded on the request of the sponsor.

Please read our Moonlight Memory Walk participant safety brief to ensure you are fit to take part in this event and conditions of walking on the evening.

The British weather is notoriously unpredictable, so we will be keeping an eye on the forecast. If the weather is deemed unsafe we will postpone the event and alternative date will be arranged and you will be notified by text and email. If you cannot make the alternative date, a refund will be offered or you can offer your event fee as a donation.

You need to arrive between 8pm and 9.15pm at the latest to give you enough time to sign in, hand in your candle bag and collect your t-shirt. There will be music and entertainment throughout the evening. The memory ceremony will begin at 9.30pm prompt and the walk will leave The Moor at 10pm on the dot.

Unfortunately, if the back marshal has already left the Moor you will be unable to take part in the walk for health and safety reasons. Please ensure you arrive by 9.15pm at the very latest to sign in and collect your t- shirt.

Unfortunately there are no facilities and we cannot accept liability for anything you leave behind. Please bring only what you need and are able to carry for the night.

We recommend you dress up warm with a coat and comfortable trainers. Previous participants can wear one of their old Memory Walk T– shirts or collect a new one on the evening. Fancy dress is very much encouraged and will also be available to buy on the evening.

You need to remember to bring your walker number and “ I am walking in memory of…” sign along with your decorated Candle bag to hand in to our memory team. We also recommend you bring a torch and mobile phone.

It is not a race! The route will approximately take 1.5 hours to 2 hours to complete. There will be front walking marshals that will set the pace but they must not be passed by any participants for strict health and safety reasons

Add it to your online giving page: if you have set up an online giving page the money is automatically transferred to CHSW. You can add any offline sponsorship to your online page.

You are welcome to bring your dog to join you on the evening. They will need to remain on a lead and we ask that participants with dogs remain at the back of the walk to avoid other participants tripping over leads due to it being dark.
