Your sponsorship makes a difference

Your fundraising makes such a difference

At our three children’s hospices we look after the whole family, not just the poorly child. Your support means those little things we do for the family make a big difference.

Becki comes to us for planned short breaks with her twins Sophia and Laila and their sister Olivia.

"When we are staying here, Sophia is supported by the Care Team and both Laila and Olivia are looked after by the Sibling Team. Olivia in particular absolutely loves it and the whole Sibling Team is fantastic.

How will I be contacted?

After signing up you will be sent a confirmation email with details of all your registrants.   At a later date you’ll receive your fundraising pack in the post, this will contain your runner number and all the information you will need for the event.

We also like to keep in touch via email, which will have fundraising hints and tips and occasionally any last minute information changes such as route changes so please provide a valid email address when signing up!

Santas jumping for joyWhat does my entry fee include?

Your registration fee covers the cost of putting on the event and includes a full Santa suit, a medal and festive treats. As this is a sponsored event we ask that you try to raise sponsorship to support the vital care Children’s Hospice South West provides.

Do I have to raise a certain amount of money?

There is no minimum sponsorship for taking part - every single penny raised will help Children’s Hospice South West to support sick children and their families. A suggested sponsorship of £50 per adult, £15 for children, £100 for a family of four would help us continue to support families all year round.

Can I walk?

Whilst it's called Santas on the Run, you don’t have to run! You can jog, walk or even skip your way to the finish line - so please go with what you are most comfortable with.

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing suitable for running in under your Santa suit with a well-fitting pair of trainers.

I’m in a wheelchair, can I still take part?

Yes of course! If you are in any doubt as to whether the route will be suitable please do get in touch. A named carer can also assist a disabled entrant for free, please call your local fundraising office to register their details.

Can I bring my dog?

Santas on the Run Bristol 2014

Dogs are welcome to join in with the festive fun. However, we don’t have canine Santa suits so feel free to get creative! All we ask is that you keep them on their tinsel covered leads at all times.

Santas on the Run: Eden Project.

Unfortunately dogs cannot take part in our Eden Project Santas on the Run event.  Dogs are allowed entry into the Eden Project but will need to remain with friends or family that are spectating during the race.

When will I receive my Santa Suit?

You can collect your suit on the day of the event. Your fundraising pack will give details on when registration opens at your event.

Alternatively, if you are attending the Bristol event, you can attend a Charlton Farm open day and collect your suit then. Visit our hospice open day page for more information on how to book a place.

Can I adapt my Santa suit?

Of course! Our suits come in an adult and child one size so many people cut the legs to be shorter or roll up the arms to make the suits more fitting.  Some Santas even add tinsel and baubles too!

Don’t forget that your running number must be worn at all times though, please secure it with safety pins to your Santa suit. We also suggest bringing a belt with you to the event to ensure your suit stays in place when you’re running.

If I can’t take part now, can I give my place to a friend?

Unfortunately your place cannot be transferred. Places are also non refundable, this is in line with our event Terms and Conditions, however your fee will be used to enable the hospice to care for families. If you can’t now take part, please let us know.

Can a friend who hasn’t registered run with me?

We feel strongly that only those people who have paid to enter and worked hard to raise the money should take part. This is also to ensure we can carefully manage everyone’s safety. Why not encourage them to sign up and take part!

Are there any storage facilities to leave our belongings at the event village?

Unfortunately there are no facilities and we cannot accept liability for anything you leave behind. Please bring only what you need.

Will it go ahead if it’s raining?

The British weather is notoriously unpredictable so keep an eye on the forecast and bring waterproofs if it’s looking dodgy as the Santa suits are not waterproof!

What if I arrive late?

Unfortunately if the back marshal has already departed you will be unable to take part in the run for health and safety reasons. So please ensure you arrive in plenty of time to register and get into your santa suit!
