Supporting children and families through music
For many of the children and families that use our hospices, music is such an important part of their stays. A music therapy session provides a safe space in which children can freely express themselves through words, vocalisation, body language and facial expressions, but it also presents a beautiful opportunity for engagement, interaction and treasured memory making with siblings, parents and other family members.
Just like music does for our children and families, we wanted to bring you some musical joy at home this summer through our brand-new virtual music festival, Late Summer Sessions! From Monday 17 August – Monday 31 August 2020, we invite you to sample some of the finest talent from our thriving local music industry by tuning into performances from a selection of local artists.
There will be a performance for you no matter what your music taste! Simply join our Facebook event page for information on the artists performing, when you can watch them and make a donation to help support local children and families. You could even go full festival style with a camping chair, tent and face glitter!
