Children's Hospice South West

Making the most of short and precious lives across the south west

Welcome to Steve's fundraising page

Ride for Precious Lives Appeal - St Austell, Cornwall to Bristol

2nd – 4th JULY 2010

TOTAL SPONSORSHIP RAISED SO FAR £363 includes offline donations.

Following the success of the 2009 Ride for Precious Lives I am getting on my bike again to raise as much as I can for Children’s Hospices South West (CHSW).

Last year 50 riders raised over £50,000 to support the amazing work done at the hospices and enjoyed three fantastic days of cycling along the way. Take a look at the www.chsw.org.uk 2009 Ride page to get a flavour of what you can expect.

This year is even more popular so I am hoping for some great riding, meeting some great people and raising some money along the way.

Some details about me, I have worked for the Children's Hospice South West for 4 years and have thoroughly enjoyed it, very challenging but rewarding at the end of the day. I've done a bit of cycling over the years and though I'll be 47 when the ride takes place this year I hope to give some youngs 'uns a run (or ride) for their money. I may even be able to stay on course this year having added a fair few extra miles to the first two days riding last year and I promise not to lead if I don't know the way!

Many thanks for looking at my site.

ABOUT CHILDREN'S HOSPICE SOUTH WEST
At Children’s Hospice South West we help and support children and their families who are living with life-limiting conditions. We are the only organisation in the South West to provide vital hospice care to these families, and are here for families day and night throughout the year.

There are over 1000 children who could benefit from our care, yet we are only able to provide care for up to 400 families. Of these, some come to us for palliative care, some for emergency care and many for planned respite and a rare opportunity for a break.
