On Friday 10th April 2026, eleven individuals from across Torbay successfully completed their Ofqual regulated Level 2 FAA First Aid for Mental Health qualification - another fantastic step forward for community wellbeing.

This training was generously funded by Active Devon and delivered by Liz Day of Collectively Diverse, bringing together a group of passionate professionals committed to supporting mental health through their work.

Porsche Club GB Brings “Porsche Joy” to Children at Little Bridge House

A fleet of cars and generous community spirit combined to create a memorable day for children and families at Little Bridge House, as members of Porsche Club Great Britain made their annual visit to the hospice.

13 club members arrived in convoy, showcasing a striking variety of Porsche models, much to the delight of the families and staff. The visit has become a much-anticipated annual tradition.

Throughout the day families and staff were given the opportunity to enjoy short passenger rides in the iconic sports cars.

Goonvean Group Goes the Distance with ‘Marathon May’ Fundraising Challenge for Children’s Hospice South West

Inspired by the spirit and determination of the London Marathon, colleagues at Goonvean Group laced up their running shoes to take on a challenge of their own. They took on their own ‘Marathon May’, an ambitious team effort to complete the equivalent of 5 marathons over 5 consecutive days.

Across the week-long challenge two teams, comprising a total of 10 runners, each covered 8.5km per day, collectively achieving the distance of a full marathon every day. The initiative was organised in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), raising an impressive £4,131.

A dedicated team of South West agronomists are gearing up to take on one of Children’s Hospice South West’s toughest and most inspiring challenges, as they once again join this year’s Ride for Precious Lives.

Mike, Andy, Brendon and Zak, who are all employed by UK company, Agrii, will be among more than 100 cyclists taking part in the annual sponsored cycling weekend, covering 200 miles while raising vital funds to support babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.

Cyber community raises nearly £10K for Children’s Hospice South West through BSides Exeter partnership

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is celebrating the continued support of the South West’s cyber security community, as BSides Exeter reaches an incredible milestone of almost £10,000 raised for the charity over the past 3 years.

BSides Exeter is part of the global security BSides movement; a community-driven series of cyber security conferences focused on collaboration, accessibility and knowledge sharing. Unlike larger commercial events, BSides creates space for a wide range of voices, from experienced practitioners to students and those new to the industry.

Frankie’s Marathon Cycle for Children’s Hospice South West

7 year old Frankie from North Devon has achieved something truly remarkable, completing a marathon-length cycle to raise funds for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and making a huge difference to families in the South West when they need it most.

On Saturday 2 May, Frankie took to the Tarka Trail, cycling from Braunton to Bideford and back again, an incredible total of 42.58 kilometres! With determination well beyond her years, Frankie completed the distance in just 3 hours and 27 minutes, raising an impressive £684 for CHSW. Community Comes Together at Boconnoc Estate Open Garden

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) welcomed more than 200 visitors to a special open garden event at the historic Boconnoc Estate near Lostwithiel on Sunday 10 May, raising an impressive £2,031.20 to support the charity’s vital care for children and families.

Hikers complete epic challenge for Children’s Hospice South West

A group of 44 supporters of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) took on the charity’s Incredible Hike last weekend, walking 60 miles along the South West Coast Path. The Incredible Hike is raising vital funds to support babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
