SPONSORED WALK IN AID OF CHSW & BIDEFORD CRICKET CLUB
Jackie Shepherd, Frances Barratt and other 'cricket widow' friends are doing a sponsored walk on Saturday 24th July to raise money in a 50:50 split between the Children's Hospice South West and Bideford Cricket Club.
They intend starting at Barnstaple New Bridge at mid-day and then walking back along the Tarka Trail, crossing over Bideford New Bridge and finally arriving back at Bideford Cricket Club. Estimated approximately 12 miles.
Once back at the Club, there will be a social evening to round the day off.
If you would like to join them, please contact either Jackie or Frances to let them know of your interest - sorry chaps, but the walking part is for ladies only!
To all players of Bideford Cricket Club and other clubs who have played at Westward Ho! over the last 2 or 3 years:- if you have enjoyed your tea there, chances are that it was Jackie who spent hours and hours in the kitchen while you were out enjoying the cricket and sunshine who made it for you.
And over the years Frances has sat and scored many many many matches on your behalf.
Please show your appreciation for all the hard work our ladies do for YOUR benefit by sponsoring them this July.

Bideford Cricket Club's association with the CHSW goes back two years when the club hosted a charity match against Somerset in Marcus Trescothick's Benefit season. His chosen charity was CHSW, and altogether since then the club has raised almost £2500 for the CHSW.
But more is always needed ....
